It has been too long since I last updated this website, and a lot of water has passed under my bridge: the writing of a totally different type of book, a historical saga; a major relocation from Western North Carolina to Little Rock, Arkansas; and of course, the challenges presented by Covid. That said, I’m happy to share with you that I have published that novel, or should I say novels, because it became a trilogy.

Written under my full name, Jill LaForge Jones, it is a saga that follows the lives of two young immigrants who make their way to the southern colonies of the New World and the promise of a better life. Fiona Cassidy arrives in Charlestown, South Carolina, from Northern Ireland as an indentured servant in 1750. Will Gordon, who miraculously escaped death on the killing fields of Scotland’s Culloden Moor, is rescued and offered a berth on a ship headed for Wilmington, North Carolina. Separately at first, and later together, they are thrust directly into the Southern conflicts in the struggle for American independence, a part of American history seldom told.
